The Whitcoulls Top 100 Books List for 2012-2013 as voted for by New Zealanders has been released recently with a good mix of timeless classics and some newcomers. Heading the list this year as the most favoured book is the award-winning crime series by Stieg Larsson, the Millennium Trilogy, (The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, The Girl Who Played with Fire and The Girl Who Kicked the Hornets' Nest).
The timeless love tale by Jane Austen of Mr Darcy and Elizabeth Bennett in Pride and Prejudice took fourth place. New to the Top 100 at number five is the controversial blockbuster 50 Shades of Grey trilogy ( Fifty Shades of Grey, Fifty Shades Darker and Fifty Shades Freed) by E L James.
