Whitcoulls Top 20 Authors List 2014-2015

When Whitcoulls canvassed New Zealanders to find out what their Top 100 books for 2014-2015 were they also published a list of New Zealand's Top 20 Authors. To find out which authors were selected read on. Jodi Picoult, author of such compelling books as My Sister's Keeper, The Pact and The Storyteller was voted New Zealand's favourite author for 2014-2015. In an interesting twist she narrowly edged out J. K. Rowling, author of the Harry Potter series. These results may reflect the age of the voters as Jodi Picoult is most popular among women who are by far the largest demographic of book buyers. Other fiction writers who made it to the list in the crime and thriller genre were Lee Child, Dan Brown and James Patterson. Most popular Sci-Fi & Fantasy authors were George R. R. Martin, J R. R. Whitcoulls Top 100 Books List for 2013-2014 - New Zealand's Best Reads

The Whitcoulls Top 100 Books List for 2013-2014 has been released. Every year Whitcoulls surveys New Zealand readers for their best books picks for the year and publishes these in the Whitcoulls Top 100 Books list. If you are a reader you will definitely want to check out what Kiwis have voted for in 2013-2014 list. There was not much reshuffling of the top places this year. The Millennium series by Stieg Larsson held onto the number one spot for the second year in a row with the hugely popular Game of Thrones series by George R R Martin a close second. The timeless modern classic The Lord of the Rings by J R R Tolkien took out the third position. A surprise newcomer to the Whitcoulls Top 100 list is The Fault in Our Stars by John Green which rocketed to 7th place on the list.
