Whitcoulls Top 100 Books List 2018-2019

The Whitcoulls Top 100 Books list for 2018-2019 was released in July 2019 itemizing the best 100 books selected by New Zealand readers as their current favourites. Classics such as Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen, Jane Eyre (Charlotte Bronte) and Emily Bronte's Wuthering Heights along with modern favourites like Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit (Tolkein) and To Kill a Mockingbird (Harper Lee) have prevailed amidst the plethora of modern fiction books.

The Whitcoulls Top 100 books list does appear to have a distinctive flavour with many books that centre around the events of World War II garnering a position. Most notable among these titles are: The Tattooist of Auschwitz, The Book Thief, All the Light We Cannot See, The Bronze Horseman and The Nightingale.
