The Whitcoulls Top 100 List for 2008 is now available from any Whitcoulls store. This year the list of titles selected by Kiwi readers as their favourite reads for 2008 is topped by T R R Tolkein's timeless classic trilogy The Lord of the Rings.

In the number two spot is My Sister's Keeper by Jodi Picoult. Jodi Picoult has emerged as one of New Zealander's favourite authors having a total of five books on the list including Nineteen Minutes, The Pact, Change of Heart, and Plain Truth.

Jane Austen remains popular two hundred years on with her classic love story of Mr Darcy and Elizabeth Bennett in Pride and Prejudice claiming third place.
